This chart shows the risk metric for Bitcoin, the Total Market Cap, Ethereum and various other altcoins. The purpose of the Risk metrics is not to predict price bottoms nor price tops, but rather to identify areas that should be attractive buying- or selling points in the longer term. Low Risk indicates potentially interesting buying areas and high Risk indicates potentially interesting selling areas. The formulas for creating the metric are unpublished and are only known to Benjamin Cowen, the creator. The formulas do account for diminishing returns. All crypto assets are created after Bitcoin and have therefore experienced less market cycles that could be used to fit data to. Sometimes the behavior of certain assets is also very unclear. We therefore assign a confidence parameter from 1 to 9 to each Risk Metric, those with higher confidence are more likely to produce reasonable predictions, while for lower confidence assets it is less clear. Lower confidence assets might also need re-fitting in the future, after more market cycle tops/bottoms are in. This shit is trashhhhhh, sure overall ive made money honestly (im net positive for a good margin). But the amount ive lost, thousands on complete scan projects. Not even meme coins, just coins and tokens promising new futures, new tech, new this and that... ALMOST ALL of them have burnt to the ground, all of them. The only thing thats stood has honestly been BTC and what money I have has come from holding btc and bnb Projects like Lukso, Varsity, Omg/omisgo (for the old schoolers here) etc have all been unbelievably disappointing. And even though im up, i dont care, I barely look at it, its almost like a joke within my social circle - we all have crypto, we've all made money and honestly, I wouldn't care if I lose it tomorrow and it disappears. Whether you’re a fan of crypto or not, it’s obvious that it’s driven by speculative money. Believers in purely the tech are the minority. Put it this way, if BTC never rose past $10, almost none of us would be here. Speculative gain is the fundamental fuel. Without it, everything goes the way of NFTs. But that fundamental fuel is gone. Speculation has moved to AI. People aren’t waiting 4 years with crypto, when they can get rich in 4 weeks with AI. That’s also why crypto has decoupled from the market and keeps going down no matter how the wider market moves. It’s also why the 4 year cycle isn’t valid anymore. FTX and previous dips were different. Those dips were fuelled by risk and fear. But risk and fear have never stopped speculators. It’s the reason why they are speculators in the first place. Crypto could recover from those dips because people still wanted to get rich quick, and crypto was the best way. This time is different because ***there is a better way for people to be greedy***. Crypto is no longer the best way to get rich. Crypto can survive fear, but it cannot survive greed. And AI isn’t going away. The smartest people and companies in the world are investing trillions in AI for an obvious reason…
